Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is my personal information stored?

Personal information is gathered in order to provide high-quality and individualised support. Prior to your first appointment you will be asked to complete an online intake form, which outlines our consent and confidentiality policy. Please retain a copy for your records.

Your information (such as contact and payment details) are collected via the intake form and are stored securely and privately on our practice management software (Halaxy). Payment details are only accessible to your clinician in order to process your payment and Medicare rebate (if applicable). Payments will only be processed following your appointment or in the event of a late cancellation (cancellations where there hasn’t been 24-hours-notice, in accordance to our policy provided to you in the consent form).

Your psychologist will write clinical notes following your session which are also stored on Halaxy. This is a medical and health records requirement and allows your psychologist to provide accurate psychological assessment and support.

  • Why do you charge a cancellation fee?

We prefer to avoid a cancellation fee as much as possible, so please have your own appointment reminder on a calendar or in your phone, and use the SMS appointment reminder as a prompt if you do need to cancel or reschedule. A fee is charged where sufficient notice hasn’t been provided to cover your psychologist’s time. We much prefer for you to attend, as continuity is important to your recovery.
